Day 1 Arrival in Tashkent, dinner
Day 2 By train Afrosiab to Samarkand, Samarkand excursion, breakfast and dinner
In the morning, you'll grab a quick bite. You can have coffee or tea with tasty croissants. At 7:30 AM, you'll head out to the train station in Tashkent. The fast train to Samarkand leaves at 8:23 AM. You'll arrive in Samarkand at 10:43 AM. A driver will meet you and drive you to your hotel.
Samarkand is an excellent spot with many cultures. It became a UNESCO site in 2001. It was vital for the Silk Road, drawing wealthy traders. Famous folks like Marco Polo and Ibn Battuta loved it. Big names such as Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, and Tamerlane came here. Tamerlane made it his capital.
Today, with a guide, you'll see famous places in Samarkand. You'll visit the impressive Registan Square, Gur-Emir's tomb, and the enormous Bibi-Khanym Mosque. You'll also go to Shah-i-Zinda, Ulugh Beg's old star-gazing spot, and Khoja Daniyar's tomb. This last spot is notable for Muslims, Jews, and Christians.
To cap off a day of history and culture, dine at Karimbek Restaurant. You'll have tasty lamb and fresh veggies. It's a great way to wrap up your day.
Day 3 By train Afrosiab to Bukhara, Bukhara excursion, breakfast, dinner with master class
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll head to the train station. You'll catch the 9:50 train to Bukhara, arriving at 11:19. A driver will then take you to your hotel to rest.
Bukhara is a well-known city in Central Asia. It's famous for its ancient buildings, which UNESCO has protected since 1993. The city has a rich history with the Silk Road and Sufi culture.
Today, you'll visit Bukhara's main spots: the Samanid Mausoleum and Chashma Ayub Mausoleum, Bolo Hauz Mosque, the Ark Fortress, and the Po-i-Kalyan complex. You'll also see Abdulaziz-Khan and Ulugbek schools and old markets. Finally, you'll stroll around Lyabi-Hauz Square and see a statue of Hodja Nasreddin.
The day ends with dinner at a local's house. There, you'll learn to make Bukharan pilaf, a dish made from meat, onions, rice, and spices.
Day 4 Bukhara excursion, breakfast and dinner
After breakfast, continue seeing Bukhara. Visit the pretty Sitorai Mohi Khosa Palace, the holy grave of Bahauddin Naqshbandi, and the old Chor-Bakr graveyard. Take great photos in Bukhara's old, slim lanes. End the day with an excellent local meal at Lyabi-Khauz restaurant.
Day 5 Transfer to Khiva through the Kyzyl-Kum desert, breakfast and dinner
After breakfast, you will head to Khiva. You will go through the Kyzyl-Kum desert, stopping to see the Amudarya River and enjoying the desert air. When you reach Khiva, you will stay in a cosy hotel in the Ichan-Kala fortress. This place has a big wall, 54 unique buildings, and 250 homes. In 1990, Ichan-Kala was the first in Uzbekistan and Central Asia to be on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Later, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, you will walk in Ichan-Kala. You will see the streets and buildings light up. You will end the day with a great dinner at a local's house. You will try Tukhm-Barak, a unique dish.
Day 6 Khiva excursion, breakfast and dinner with folklore show
After breakfast, you'll start a walking tour in Khiva. You'll see famous spots in Ichan-Kala, including the Kalta-Minor Minaret and the Muhammad Amin Khan Madrasah. Next, you'll see the Kunya-Ark fortress. It has mosques, homes, and a view spot. With its 218 wood columns, the Juma Mosque is a crucial stop.
Next, you'll see the Mahmud Pakhlavan mausoleum with blue domes. Then, you'll check out the tall Islam Khodja Minaret and the Ak Mosque. The tour includes the Anush-khan Bathhouse and the Alla-Kuli-Khan School. You'll end your tour at the Tash-Hauli Palace and Ichan-Kala's walls. You'll eat at a local spot for dinner and enjoy a folklore show.
Day 7 Flight to Tashkent, Tashkent excursion, breakfast and dinner
Your day will start with an early breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Next, you will be transferred to Urgench Airport for your flight HY52, which will depart for Tashkent at 09:00. Upon your arrival at 11:00, your driver will meet you and take you to the hotel for check-in and some rest. You will embark on an exciting excursion to explore Tashkent in the afternoon. Tashkent excursion includes visits to the Khast-Imam Ensemble, the Chorsu Bazaar known for its striking turquoise domes, the Monument of Courage, Amir Timur and Mustakillik Squares, and the Museum of Applied Arts, which houses unique exhibits. Your day will culminate with a farewell dinner at the Nur restaurant.
Day 8 Transfer to the airport, breakfast
After a breakfast filled with the aromas of Uzbek cuisine, you will head to the Tashkent airport, where every corner is filled with noise and bustle, reminiscent of the crossroads of countless stories and travels. On the way to check in for your return flight, pictures of vibrant bazaars, the majestic architecture of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva and the warm smiles of residents who opened their hearts to you will emerge in your memory.
